Hosna Mustaphi, from the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Morocco, explained the current situation and opportunities around the exploration in Morocco. Stephen Whyte, the CEO of Galp Energia, announced that the company is going to be involved in the Moroccan oil exploration.

Ahmed Salem Tekrour, the Director of Petroleum from the Ministry of Oil and Gas in Mauritania, elaborated on the Developments in Mauritania oil and gas exploration while Max Torres, the Exploration Director from Repsol YPF Spain explained the great potential of hydrocarbon exploration and growth in the Iberian Region.

The biggest employers in the United States are in Texas and Oklahoma with oil and gas jobs in Texas numbering almost half a million. WHAT IS A ROUSTABOUT?

In the oil and gas industry, a roustabout maintains everything in an oil field. They will take on a number of tasks such as maintaining salt water disposal pumps, roughneck drilling and well servicing. Generally, the job requires little training but an experienced roustabout can complete some of the most dangerous jobs on the rig. The roustabout job often gets bad press because it is seen as one of the worst jobs in terms of environment, physical demands and stress. You often work long hours and can be away from home for long periods. However, the job can be stimulating, challenging and exciting and is well paid.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Despite the job being considered dirty and hard work, most roustabouts really enjoy what they do. Because they are in charge of general maintenance, the job can be varied, working inside or outside, on ships or rigs.
